Alberta Learning Coach is an independent learning tool and is not affiliated with the Government of Alberta.

Information stored

The service may store a username, email address, display name, password hash, email-verification status, account-security events, learning progress, submitted answers, writing feedback, and question-history data needed to provide the service. Passwords are not stored in plain text.

Use of information

Information is used to create and verify accounts, authenticate users, recover access, protect accounts from repeated failed sign-in attempts, save learning progress, provide feedback, and administer the service. Do not enter highly sensitive personal information into learning responses.

Children and family use

For child users, a parent, guardian, school, or authorized adult should supervise account creation and use as appropriate. Public self-registration may be disabled by the site administrator.

Security and retention

The production service uses HTTPS, secure session cookies, access controls, one-time verification and password-reset tokens, login throttling and temporary account lockout, and database backups. Verification and reset tokens expire and are stored as hashes. No online system can guarantee absolute security.

Contact

Contact the site administrator for access, correction, or account questions.
